1000 dogs

…for fairer fashion

Calling all crafters

MPs are waking up to the need for greater regulation in the UK fashion sector, but not quickly enough. Your skills and effort can help them take notice.

We would like you to join us in a craft project that could change an entire sector. Introducing…

The 1000 dogs project

With your help we’ll get 1000+ handcrafted dogs on the desks of MPs all across the country. Each comes with a message calling for a fashion watchdog to hold UK clothing brands to account for their actions.

Every new MP who pledges their support is a huge victory - it’s one step closer to positive change in the sector.

Your crafting could be the thing that convinces them. Here’s how to get involved:

3 steps to follow

  • 1. Get Creative

Make a fashionable dog, (aka a dog wearing some clothes) small enough to post. Design it to get your MP’s attention – something fun and memorable.

You could knit it, stitch it, sculpt it, cut out and colour it... even make it from a sock!

  • 2. Download the letter

Download the 1000 dogs letter template for your MP. Take a minute to personalise it before printing it out.

This message is crucial - it sets out the key details of why a fashion watchdog is so important and how it could change things for the better.

  • 3. Send it

Once you’ve crafted your fashion dog and printed your letter, all you need to do is find your MP’s details and send it out.

Email us at campaign@transform-trade.org to add your contribution (ideally with a little photo!) to the 1000 dogs target.

Will it work?

MPs love to make decisions that the public support - but they need to know what we want.

The 1000 dogs campaign will show MPs that we care about a fair fashion sector - where UK brands are held accountable for how they behave.

Crafting a fashionable looking dog sends a message that is really difficult to ignore - because it’s not something they’ll receive every day.

Some MPs have already pledged to support a fashion watchdog - and we’re expecting many more to join them off the back of your crafting.
