This Christmas, will you invest in a world where women are free to work without fear?

As a woman I do not feel safe walking to the centre at night. As women, we have many enemies. Coming from the centres at 11pm or midnight is full of risk.

Work without fear.

Every day millions of women have no choice but to risk their basic safety - just to earn a living.

A donation this Christmas is an investment in determined women fighting to make the world a little safer for themselves and each other – and you can help.

Will you stand with the women taking unseen acts of bravery, just to support their families?

Change is possible

In over thirty years of fighting for fairer trade, in every community we’ve worked alongside, we’ve met incredible and determined women braving dangers and discrimination – just to earn a living.

Here’s how your support will make a difference:

"Before, women had no income system, women in our area were completely dependent on their husbands…Now my husband doesn’t do anything without my opinion, without my permission, and doesn’t take any decision without sharing it with me.”

Taslima Begum

By investing in a network of fair trade businesses and collectives – many run and owned by women – we can build a truly global movement of businesses across the world, founded on principles of fairness, justice, and care for the earth, where everyone can earn a living without risking their basic safety.

The impact of your donation:

  • could fund a grant to provide female workers with vital safety equipment, as women who aren’t formally employed often can’t access the necessary PPE.

  • could provide training for a female entrepreneur, helping them access the resources and support to start and run their own businesses.

  • could fund a farmers’ association to recruit and train women to take up positions of leadership, so that women’s voices and experiences can influence decision making.

  • could help set up a community-owned shop in a rural area, run by women as a place to earn an income and be part of the public space.

  • could help fund gender equality training for a whole community, encouraging men and women to ‘role swap’ in order to better understand one another’s contributions to the household and challenge patriarchal attitude.

This Christmas, will you donate to help make it safe to work for women across the world?
